Since the age of 13, Terry Magelssen has been intrigued by the ancient art of Magic and Illusion. The theatrical
performance art that became most popular during the Vaudeville era with names like Kellar, Thurston, Blackstone and
Houdini. Today those names are Copperfield, Siegfried & Roy and Burton.
It was when Terry attended a show hosted by Campus Crusade for Christ that he witnessed a performer who
took all of those "tricks" and delivered the Gospel with them. His name is Andre Kole. Mr. Kole took several
moments in his show to share the truth and Gospel of Jesus Christ with the audience. The show included an
invitation at the end and many came to accept Jesus Christ that evening. It was one of the most powerful and moving
experiences Terry had ever been a part of.
Terry was born again at the age of 10, but like many, the world had a grasp on him that was tough to shake. Some
30 years later, Terry rededicated himself to Jesus and has found a wonderful sense of peace since that time.
Terry formed his company "Amazing Productions" in 1985 after 10 years of apprentice training. His
travels have taken him all over the country presenting shows in theatres, schools, arenas, TV and film. It wasn't
until God presented Terry the gift of his bride, that he sensed he should do more with his gifts and talents than
just entertain the secular world. Carol, his bride, asked why he wasn't presenting the Gospel like Andre Kole
was. Terry didn't have a good answer. He knew at that moment, God had been preparing him to bring His message to
audiences.
"Believe The Amazing" was born. Desiring to share the messages from the Bible in ways
that would captivate and move audiences is Terry's desire. But really to do what God's desire is,
that's what is most important. Terry figured that if he had many people in an audience watching his
illusions, he might as well deliver a message.
It began while performing at corporate Christmas dinners, "Breakfast with Santa" and school "holiday" assemblies
that Terry figured, "what the heck, I'm going to talk about the "reason for the season" and see what
happens". Much to his delight, audience members began coming up to him after the show and thanking him
for saying something about Christ. Terry was a little more subtle in public schools telling the kids that
"we're having a birthday party today"! Everyone seemed to appreciate his approach. Terry knew he was on to
something.
Churches and Christian schools began calling asking Terry to present his program on a variety of topics from the
Bible. The most common were the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the deceptions of satan, protecting yourself with the
Armor of God.
Terry and Carol attend Abundant Life Baptist Church in Lee's Summit Missouri. They live on 27
acres of timber in Cass County Missouri. They have 4 grown boys, 2 dogs and a cat. Often times there is a rabbit or
two in the mix.
Terry will continue to present Amazing Stories of God's love and grace until he is called
home.
